Core Practice connects using OAuth — when you submit the form, you'll be redirected to Core Practice to grant access, then redirected back to the portal. Before connecting, ask Core Practice to enable the Fixed Price Dental API on your tenant.
What you'll need
- An admin account at this practice.
- The Fixed Price Dental API enabled on your Core Practice tenant (request this from Core Practice support).
- Your Core Practice Tenant Name.
- Login credentials for Core Practice (you'll use these during the OAuth redirect to grant access).
Steps
- Contact Core Practice and ask them to enable the Fixed Price Dental API on your tenant. They'll usually do this on request.
- In Fixed Price Dental, go to Setup → Integration.
- Click Configure Integration.
- In the Software dropdown, select Core Practice.
- The form opens on the New Connection tab. The Setup Instructions box at the top reminds you to:
- Contact Core Practice and get the Fixed Price Dental API enabled.
- Enter your tenant name into the form below.
- In the Tenant Name field, enter your Core Practice tenant name.
- Click Create Connection. You'll be redirected to Core Practice's login page.
- Sign in to Core Practice and approve the permissions Fixed Price Dental requests.
- Core Practice redirects you back to the portal. You'll land on Setup → Integration with a new row showing a green Healthy badge.
After connecting — what to do next
- Go to Practitioners. Edit each practitioner and use the Link to PMS combobox in the Link to PMS card to match them to the corresponding record in Core Practice. See Link a practitioner to your practice management system.
- Map each enabled appointment type to its Core Practice equivalent. See Map appointment types to your PMS.
- The Availability menu item is hidden — Core Practice becomes the source of truth for bookable times.
Cancellations and reschedules propagate automatically
When you cancel or reschedule a booking inside Fixed Price Dental for a Core Practice-connected practice, the change is sent to Core Practice automatically — no manual mirroring required.
Tips & things to watch for
- If your integration shows Unhealthy later, it's usually because the OAuth token expired or a sync failed. Use the Reconnect button on the integration row to refresh access — see Reconnect your integration when it shows "Unhealthy".
- If you have multiple practices on the same Core Practice tenant, only connect once — at the second practice use the Existing Connection tab to reuse the connection. See Use a connection from another practice in your group.
- The OAuth approval screen is rendered by Core Practice, not by us, so the layout might change over time. The list of permissions Fixed Price Dental requests is what matters; if you have questions about scope, contact Core Practice support.
