When your practice is connected to a practice management system (Praktika or Core Practice), each practitioner in Fixed Price Dental needs to be linked to the corresponding record in your PMS. The link tells us where to write bookings in your appointment book.
What you'll need
- A connected PMS integration. See Connect your practice management system — choosing your software.
- The practitioner already created in both systems.
Steps
- Open the practitioner's edit page.
- Look for the Link to PMS card on the right (or further down on mobile). It only appears for integrated practices.
- Click the practitioner combobox (it shows "Select practitioner...").
- Start typing — the list filters to matching practitioners from your PMS.
- Click the matching practitioner to select them.
- Click Save Practitioner.
You can also clear the link by clicking the same practitioner in the list (toggles off).
What happens after linking
- New bookings made through Fixed Price Dental for this practitioner will be written into your PMS against the linked record.
- The practitioner's PMS-side schedule is treated as the source of truth for available slots.
- Updates that happen in the PMS (e.g. a booking is moved) will sync into Fixed Price Dental on the regular schedule, or via Sync Now.
What if my practitioner isn't in the dropdown?
- Make sure they exist in your PMS.
- Run a manual sync (Setup → Integration → Sync Now) to pull the latest list from your PMS.
- If they still don't appear, contact support.
Tips & things to watch for
- The combobox is disabled when the practitioner is hidden from online bookings. Turn Visible for Online Bookings on first.
- One-to-one mapping is enforced — each Fixed Price Dental practitioner links to one PMS practitioner. If two Fixed Price Dental practitioners somehow share a PMS record, syncing will be unpredictable.
