Each practitioner has a master switch — Visible for Online Bookings — that controls whether they appear on your public listing and whether patients can book them. Switch it off temporarily (e.g. while you're still setting them up, or while they're on extended leave) without losing any of their data.
Steps
- Open the practitioner's edit page.
- Scroll to the Online Booking Settings card.
- Tick or untick Visible for Online Bookings.
- Click Save Practitioner.
What changes when you turn it off
- The practitioner is hidden from your public listing.
- Patients can't book them online, even if they have enabled appointment types.
- The duration / Link to PMS columns and the Policy field on the edit page become disabled (they don't apply when hidden).
- Their existing bookings stay intact and still appear in your bookings list.
What changes when you turn it back on
Everything reverses. The practitioner is shown on your public listing again, the appointment-type table is editable again, and patients can book them.
When to use this vs archive
- Hide (toggle off) is the right choice for temporary absences (parental leave, sabbatical, away for 6 weeks).
- Archive is for permanent departures. See Archive or delete a practitioner.
Tips & things to watch for
- Hiding a practitioner doesn't cancel their existing future bookings. If they truly aren't going to be there, also reschedule or cancel those bookings.
- The toggle is part of the same form as the rest of the edit page — you have to click Save Practitioner for the change to take effect.
