If your practice is connected to a practice management system, each appointment type a practitioner is enabled for should be mapped to the equivalent appointment type in your PMS. The mapping tells us which PMS appointment code to use when writing the booking into your appointment book.
What you'll need
- A connected PMS integration.
- Appointment types already created in both Fixed Price Dental and your PMS.
Steps
- Open the practitioner's edit page.
- Scroll to the Appointment Types card. You'll see a table with a Link to PMS column (only visible for integrated practices).
- For each enabled appointment type, click the Link to PMS combobox (it shows "Select type...").
- Start typing — the list filters to matching appointment types from your PMS.
- Click the matching appointment type to select it. Selecting the same type again toggles it off.
- Repeat for every enabled appointment type that should be mapped.
- Click Save Practitioner.
Tips & things to watch for
- You only need to map types you've enabled for this practitioner. Disabled types don't sync.
- Mappings are per-practitioner per-appointment-type. Two practitioners can map the same Fixed Price Dental appointment type to different PMS appointment types — useful if your PMS uses practitioner-specific appointment codes.
- If a PMS appointment type is missing from the list, run a manual sync (Setup → Integration → Sync Now) to refresh, or check your PMS to confirm it exists.
- The combobox is disabled if the appointment type isn't enabled for this practitioner, or if the practitioner is hidden from online bookings.
