The About section is where each practitioner gets a chance to tell patients who they are. The portal's prompt is "What sets this practitioner apart?" — a couple of well-written paragraphs go a long way.
Steps
- Open the practitioner's edit page.
- Scroll to the Profile Information card.
- Type or paste your text into the About textarea (8 rows by default; the field expands as you type).
- Click Save Practitioner.
What to include
- Years of experience and where they trained
- Areas of clinical interest or strength
- A line about what their patient experience is like ("gentle approach", "great with anxious patients", etc.)
- Outside-of-work humanising detail — only if it adds warmth, not if it feels forced
What to avoid
- Marketing fluff and superlatives
- Phone numbers, email addresses, links, or instructions to book outside Fixed Price Dental
- Mentions of pricing — pricing belongs on appointment types
- Anything copy-pasted from another practitioner's bio (patients can tell)
Length
Two to four short paragraphs is plenty. Patients skim — long bios get skipped.
Tips & things to watch for
- The About text appears on your public listing under each practitioner.
- It's separate from the practice About (set under Profile → Description). Keep them distinct: practice-level vs person-level.
- If multiple practitioners need similar text, write it once and tweak per person — patients reading the page side by side will spot duplicates.
