The primary contact is the recipient who always receives product update notifications — things like changes to products you've created on the platform. There's exactly one primary contact per practice. The current primary is shown with a yellow star icon at the start of their row.
Steps
- Go to Setup → Notifications.
- Find the recipient you want to make primary.
- Click the star icon in the row's action area.
- Confirm: "Change Primary Contact — Are you sure you want to change the primary contact to {name}? Notifications about changes to products will always be sent to this recipient."
- Click Change.
The yellow star moves to the new recipient, and the previous primary contact is no longer the primary.
Tips & things to watch for
- The primary contact still receives the other notifications they're subscribed to — being primary just adds product updates on top.
- Only one recipient can be primary at a time. Setting a new primary automatically clears the previous one.
- The recipient who is currently primary doesn't show the star action button on their own row (because they're already primary).
- The primary contact must be a notification recipient — you can't pick a portal user who isn't also a recipient.
