When you've just added or edited an Availability block and click Manage Availability, you may see this message:
Time slots are being generated. Your time slots will be published within a few minutes.
This is normal. We've saved the schedule but haven't yet finished generating the individual bookable slots inside the block.
What's happening
When you save an Availability block, the portal calculates each individual slot inside it (based on the slot duration), and then publishes them so patients can book. This calculation runs in the background and usually takes a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the size of the block and the repeat rule.
What to do
- Wait a moment.
- Click the Refresh button at the top-right of the Manage Availability view, or close and reopen the dialog.
- Once generation is complete, the message disappears and the time slot chips appear.
If the message persists for more than a few minutes
- Confirm the schedule is in the future — past dates won't generate bookable slots.
- Confirm the block falls within your practice's opening hours and that the practitioner is bookable and not archived.
- If everything looks right and the message still doesn't go away, contact support — there may be a generation issue we can investigate.
