The practitioner edit page is where most of the practitioner setup happens — basic details, photo, online booking settings, profile information, and (if integrated) the link to your PMS. There's a lot here, so this article gives the lay of the land. Each part has its own dedicated article.
How to open the edit page
- Go to Practitioners.
- Click the edit (pencil) icon at the end of the practitioner's row.
- The edit page opens.
What's on the page
Header
The practitioner's name, an Active badge, and Discard Changes / Save Practitioner buttons. The Save button stays disabled until you change something.
Basic Details card
Title, first/last name, gender, specialty and the avatar upload. See Add a practitioner photo.
Appointment Types card
A table listing every appointment type at this practice. Per row you control:
- Duration in minutes (defaults to the appointment type's default duration when first enabled)
- Link to PMS (integrated only) — match this practitioner's appointment type to a PMS appointment type
- Enabled — switch on/off to control whether this practitioner is bookable for this appointment type
See Choose which appointment types a practitioner can do and Set custom durations per appointment type.
Online Booking Settings card
- Visible for Online Bookings — the master switch. Off = hidden from the public listing entirely.
- Policy — a per-practitioner policy with on-page guidelines about what to include and exclude. See Set a per-practitioner policy.
Profile Information card
- About
- Qualifications (search-and-pick from a catalog)
- Education (institutions)
- Languages
- Interests (search-and-pick)
See Write a great "About" section and Add qualifications, education, languages and interests.
Link to PMS card (integrated only)
A combobox to match this practitioner to the corresponding record in your PMS. See Link a practitioner to your practice management system.
Delete Practitioner card
A destructive action that archives the practitioner. See Archive or delete a practitioner.
Saving and discarding
- Save Practitioner at the top-right (and at the bottom on mobile) saves all your changes at once. Wait for the success toast before navigating away.
- Discard Changes undoes any unsaved edits and takes you back to the practitioners list.
- The save button is disabled until the form is dirty (something has changed).
Tips & things to watch for
- All the cards are part of the same form. One Save click commits everything.
- The avatar upload happens in the background as soon as you choose a file — you'll see "Uploading..." while it runs. Wait for it to finish before saving.
- Switching off Visible for Online Bookings disables the duration / Link to PMS columns in the appointment types table — they're not relevant when the practitioner is hidden.
