Use exceptions for one-off changes to your usual opening hours — public holidays, staff training days, or any single date when you'll be closed or running on different hours.
Steps
- Go to Profile → Opening Hours.
- Scroll down to the Exceptions table.
- Click Add Exception in the top-right of the table.
- Fill in the exception:
- Date — pick the date.
- Name — required. A short label like Anzac Day or Staff training.
- Closed all day? — tick if you're closed; the open and close time fields disappear.
- Open time and Close time — only if you're open on a different schedule that day.
- Notes — optional.
- Click save. The exception appears in the table.
Tips & things to watch for
- Exceptions override your normal weekly opening hours for that single date only. They don't change your weekly schedule.
- For a date marked "Closed all day", the Opening Hours column shows "Closed".
- Add public holidays in advance so they show on your public listing and patients can plan around them.
- If you'll be closed for a stretch of consecutive days (e.g. a Christmas break), add an exception for each day individually. There's no multi-day or date-range exception.
- You can also block out specific time windows for a single practitioner without affecting the public listing — see Hide a time window from online booking (non-integrated practices only).
