Tell patients when you're open by setting hours for each day of the week. Each day can have up to two open periods (handy if you close for lunch). Patients can only book appointments during these hours, so keep them up to date.
Steps
- Go to Profile → Opening Hours.
- For each day:
- Tick the checkbox next to the day name to mark it as open. Leaving it unticked shows "Closed" for that day.
- Set the open time and close time using the two time fields.
- To add a second period (e.g. you close for lunch), click the + icon to the right of the times. Set the new period's open and close times.
- To remove a second period, click the trash icon next to it.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page. You'll see a confirmation toast: "Opening hours updated".
Rules the form enforces
- The open time must be before the close time on each row.
- Two periods on the same day can't overlap, and the second period must start after the first one ends.
- A maximum of two periods per day.
If you break a rule, the time fields show a red border. Fix them, then save again.
Tips & things to watch for
- The Save button stays disabled until you change something.
- These hours are your regular weekly schedule. For one-off changes (public holidays, training days, single-day closures), use Exceptions instead. See Add a public holiday or one-off closure.
- Patients booking online can't book outside your opening hours, regardless of practitioner availability.
- If your practice is connected to a practice management system, your in-PMS appointment book is the source of truth for bookable slots — your opening hours here still control the public listing display.
