Your practice policies are shown to patients at the start of the booking form. Each policy has a name, a description and a text area where you write your wording. The same set of policies applies to every booking made at this practice.
Steps
- Go to Setup → Policies.
- You'll see one section per catalog policy (e.g. cancellation, late arrival). Each shows a description explaining what that policy is for, and a textarea with the maximum character length displayed in the bottom-right corner.
- Edit the text inside each textarea. The character counter updates as you type.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page. You'll see a confirmation: "Policies updated — Your policies have been updated successfully."
What to write
The page includes guidelines you should follow:
- Don't include any phone number or website
- Don't direct patients to book outside of Fixed Price Dental
- Keep messaging short and concise — patients tend to skip long messages
Aim for plain English and the bare minimum information patients need. They're trying to book an appointment; long policies make them bounce.
Tips & things to watch for
- The Save button stays disabled until you actually change something.
- You can leave a policy textarea empty if it doesn't apply to your practice — patients won't see an empty section.
